ILE – Adult dependent relative

This route is for someone over the age of 18 years who needs long-term care from a parent, grandchild, brother, sister, son or daughter who will be your sponsor. So your sponsor needs to be a British citizen or settled person or refugee or person having humanitarian protection. The sponsor needs to be  18 years or above. Once you will apply for entry clearance under this route, you will be granted Indefinite Leave to Enter and during your stay in the UK, you will never have to apply for extension of leave anymore.  

You will not have access to public funds within the 5 years of your entry into the UK. To make an application as an adult dependent visa, relevant rules are in Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules .

This application is not very much explored a route but an easy route for someone who needs it. Many in the UK have elderly parents back at home country and extremely desirous to bring them to the UK because of the physical and psychological support they need from the close family member one like his British sponsor. Your sponsor must be able to support, accommodate and care for you without claiming public funds in the first 5 years of your stay. After a successful application, you will be granted Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE) which is otherwise same as ILR except that you will not be able to claim public funds for initial 5 years.
