How To Meet Adequate Accommodation Requirement For The UK Family Visa Applications?

Everyone living in the house must be counted. The accommodation shall not become overcrowded and it must be occupied exclusively.

2 person of opposite sex over 10 years and are not a couple can not sleep in one room.

Children under 1 is not counted and children 1 to 10 are counted as a half.

Now count the sleeping accommodation – bedroom and living room only.

1 room – 2 person allowed
2 rooms – 3 person allowed
3 rooms – 5 person allowed
4 rooms- 7.5 person allowed
5 rooms- 10 person allowed.

Example: Couple lives in 2 bedroom house. They have 1 daughter 5 yrs, 1xson 7 years, 1xson 12 years and 1x newly born baby. Can they offer accommodation to a visitor?

Room count- 2 bedrooms +1 living room=3x sleeping arrangement which allows 5 people to live without being overcrowded.

People count
The couple – 2x people
2 x under 10- 1 person
1x 12 years son- 1 person
Newly born is not counted
Total 4 people.
So 1x guest will not overcrowd it.
